John's vision is beautiful and should form our thinking. He envisioned a great multitude before God's throne, people of every tribe, nation, and tongue. There were no divisions or separations, for, in God, there are none. This is how we should look at our world and its people – we all stand equal before God – no person or group is special. We are in a state of transformation and becoming, and we do not know what we will be when it is over. As children of God, we know that we will see the Lord as He is, and we will become like Him. The Beatitudes are powerful tools for transforming oneself and our world. Wherever they are practised, even imperfectly, God's reign advances. The meek, the poor, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and the mourners are all humble, compassionate, kind, and loving people. They are non-violent and are not greedy or grasping. They care, and care deeply. The Beatitudes are a perfect description of the life of Jesus and His personality and character. Rigorous asceticism is not required, just changing our focus from 'self' to 'others.' Those who govern their lives by these divine principles are called 'saints'.

Lord, may my life be a reflection of Jesus.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
