Sometimes, the evil and negativity in our world seem overwhelming and unstoppable. Many feel helpless in the face of so much darkness. But Daniel's vision tells another story from a time of great darkness. The beast and all the monsters in his vision are subdued and put to death, and the Son of Man figure has absolute dominion over the earth.

We see this as representing Jesus Christ, who exercises universal dominion. We should not be afraid or surrender to despair - the Lord is in charge of our world. When will it come? The fig tree parable teaches us to observe carefully and with the eyes of the Spirit. Wherever we see hope, justice, compassion, generosity, new life, forgiveness, and faith, we sense the presence and activity of the Lord. Everything else will pass away, but the Word of God will endure forever. We need not fear; God is alive and well and is at work worldwide. Let us be people of faith, hope, and love - this is the best response to the world's darkness.

Lord, open my eyes to Your presence.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray that people living with disabilities may be at the centre of attention in society, and that institutions may offer inclusive programmes which value their active participation.
