There are two kinds of wisdom: worldly 'wisdom' and wisdom, that is, knowledge of God and God's ways. The first wisdom is how to get ahead in the world, while the second guides us in making choices that are pleasing to God and for the good of others. It teaches us to discern right from wrong and live a godly and upright life. Wisdom is always seeking souls that are open to her teaching - she enters any heart that is prepared and yearning for God.

Paul describes the return of Jesus and the lifting up of all souls to be with Him. Those who have died are on an equal footing with those still alive - no one is left behind. That is why living each day as if it were our last is important. Paul wrote this to give hope to his community - we must walk in hope and share that hope with others.

The Beatitudes seem too lofty and difficult to live by in the world. But they are an ideal towards which we strive. Whenever we apply these principles to our lives - even imperfectly - we are transformed, along with the world in which we live. They represent humility, compassion, righteousness, purity of heart, non-violence, and kindness. They describe Jesus perfectly, and hopefully, they will begin to describe us.

Lord, help me to follow Your example in all things.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for the Holy Father, as he fulfills his mission, may he continue to accompany the flock entrusted to him, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
