Paul emphasised how absolutely real Jesus is - much more than a teacher or a concept. He was born in the flesh, was seen by angels, believed in by many, and taken up in glory. How can we doubt or fail to believe?

We must remember the unbroken chain of millions upon millions of believers whose lives have been sustained and transformed by faith in the Lord. Jesus is real; Jesus is alive!

People are seldom satisfied and often find something to criticise - even in the Lord! Jesus pointed out that when John the Baptist came, he was ascetical and rigorous, eating and drinking very little. People called him a madman. Then Jesus came and lived out a much gentler spirituality - eating and drinking - and some people called him a glutton and a drunkard. Go figure!

Most people judge by outward appearances and fail to see the spiritual reality within. Things are seldom as they seem at first - let us be silent, observe, and learn.

Lord, open my eyes to see the world of the Spirit.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for those persons living on the margins of society, in inhumane life conditions; may they not be overlooked by institutions and never considered of lesser important.
