Cradle Catholics often recall with fondness the first person who taught them to pray and planted in them the love for God. Pope Francis recalled that his paternal grandmother introduced him to Christ and the catechism of the Church. We read how the faith of Timothy's mother and grandmother formed and sustained his faith. For Saul the persecutor who became Paul the Apostle after his radical transformation at Damascus, being a Christian was about preaching the Good News.

Tradition, as the river flowing with new life, has its origin from Christ and makes us participate in His saving love for humanity. Being faithful to the command of Jesus, the Church exists to evangelise. At the heart of Her evangelising zeal is sacrificial love, and in the early Church, the Apostles overcame tremendous obstacles to communicate the gifts of God to all.

Faith in God is not primarily something intellectual we learn from a book. It is relational; we learn about God through others whose exemplary lives of holiness inspire us. The Apostles preached with words and also by their way of life and works. Our forefathers and role models for faith did the same but often in the ordinariness of life. Memory is the gratitude of the heart so let us always remember them in our prayers and imitate them.

Lord, help me to speak clearly about Christ and be witness of the Good News.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
For the Gift of Diversity in the Church: Let us pray that the Spirit will help us recognise the gift of different charisms within the Christian community, and to discover the richness of different ritual traditions in the heart of the Catholic Church.
