The Scriptures invite us on a journey of change and transformation as disciples of Christ, led by the Holy Spirit. In the Acts of the Apostles, St Paul addressed the Athenians at the Areopagus, recognising that their longing for the Divine led them to worship God without knowing Him. Proclaiming that God now willed for people to know Him and turn to Him, he told them that the time had come for all people to repent and believe in Jesus whom God had sent and raised from the dead.

Just as the Athenians were called to turn from their old way of life and turn to Christ, Paul's eloquent speech reminds us today that God calls each one of us to see work anew in accordance with His will.

Jesus' words in the Gospel about the spirit of truth emphasises the point that our discipleship does not end with baptism, but continues as the Holy Spirit completes the work that is begun in us, work that will glorify God who created us.

In a world that thinks of work as a burdensome struggle to be avoided, we treat our work differently as stewards of every providence. Our daily work reflects the work of the Holy Spirit in us, meant to transform our hearts as we remain faithful to what we are called to do, and to render our ability and skill that others will live appreciating every work as fulfilling human dignity.

Lord, make us truly appreciate the work of our hands that reflects Your Providence.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
