Obstacles can be in the form of big stones that block our path. People trip over them and fall, or if too big, they face an impasse in their journey. Jesus proclaims woe to those who are obstacles, because they lead little ones astray. He says it's better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone put round their necks - the very stones that are obstacles are now around the necks of those who provide them. He further warns us to watch ourselves so that we not be obstacles in people's paths.

Being simple in heart and loving virtue, as mentioned by the author of the Book of Wisdom, is a sure way of not being obstacles. Simplicity of heart and virtuous of heart are good examples of godly-living that can lead others to God.

In addition, Jesus asks us to forgive others whenever they come to seek forgiveness, that is, each time they come to say they are sorry. To have a forgiving heart is not to be an obstacle. Thus, we have hearts that are simple, virtuous and forgiving as a way of not being an obstacle.

Lord, I walk in Your way of simplicity, virtuosity and forgiveness, in order to lead others along Your way.
