Let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, recognising it as a gift from God.

FOCUS
Human life is, above all, a gift from God, the author of life. Each of us, from the moment we were conceived until our natural death, has an intrinsic value beyond our merits or circumstances. Respecting each other and protecting this gift is a mission that begins with a conversion of our own heart and opens us to commitment with others in the various stages of life (refer to the Pope's Intention for November 2022, April 2020, June 2022). Promoting the dignity and development of all human life, especially attending to those who see it most threatened, is an ethical imperative and a call to share in the mission of Jesus, Who had compassion for all, advocating for a "culture of life" against the prevailing "culture of discard."
ATTITUDE OF THE HEART
Protect and respect human life in all its stages.
Care for life with love. It is not enough to avoid doing harm. Respecting life also means actively caring for it: supporting those who suffer, defending those who cannot speak, accompanying those who are alone. To protect life with love is to live the Gospel with an open heart and outstretched hands. (cf Step 3, The Way of the Heart - Choose Life. Humanise our environments).
OTHER DAILY ATTITUDES TO LIVE THIS PRAYER INTENTION
1. Recognise life as a gift:
Live sincerity, respect, and humility, on and off the field.
2. Care tenderly for those in fragile situations:
Children, the elderly, the sick, people with disabilities: they are living faces of Jesus.
3. Choose words and actions that build life:
Watch your language. Avoid harsh judgments and destructive criticism. Use words that uplift and encourage.
4. Commit to causes that promote the dignity of life:
Act for social justice. Join initiatives that defend life from its beginning to its natural end.
5. Educate the value of life at home and in the community:
Children learn by watching. Teach them to value every form of human life and to respect diversity.
MONTHLY PRAYER
Lord of life,
You created us in love and called us to live in fullness.
Each person is a sacred gift that reflects Your face,
from the first instant of existence
to the final breath of their journey on earth.
Today we ask for the grace to recognise and protect
the unique and unrepeatable value of every human being.
May we learn to welcome life unconditionally,
to tenderly care for fragility,
to accompany each stage with respect,
and to bravely defend those who have no voice.
Forgive us, Lord,
when we fall into indifference or the culture of discard,
when we fail to see in others a being worthy of love.
Give us a new heart, always ready to choose life,
and generous hands that protect it through concrete actions.
Make Your Church a living witness of the Gospel of life,
an open home where every life is celebrated,
where no one feels unwanted,
and where dignity is always honoured and protected.
Lord Jesus,
may we love life as You love it:
with tenderness, fidelity, and self-giving.
May we proclaim, in words and actions,
that every human life is worth the total gift of ourselves.
