The lack of vision and faith in some people deprived Jesus of the opportunity to use His powers amongst them. If faith was absent, then God's presence would have been meaningless. But it is faithlessness that incapacitates a person from following through to its logical conclusion the original wonder expressed in "Where¡K?" "What is this wisdom¡K?" as seen in the questions of the people. Do we not see things through to the end, especially when it involves hardship on our part?

The author of Hebrews exhorts his readers not to give up when beset by sufferings and hardship. Endurance in bearing trials is merely a form of training for a sharing in God's holiness, in His peace and security. The disciplined man is the diligent one who does not waver from the straight paths. He has no promise of a life of ease on earth. The only promise is the grace of holiness so he can see the Lord (Heb. 12:14). "To see the Lord" is the entire longing of a Christian of good faith.

Lord, I offer myself to You to train as You will, so that I may see, love and enjoy You in my life. Amen.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That in our time, unfortunately marked by many episodes of violence, the pastors of the Church may continue to indicate the way of peace and understanding among peoples.
