At the end of the Christmas week we have heard all the familiar infancy stories and now we are presented with the deepest truth behind them. This child is God, the eternal Word of God, the light of all people, the light that is life. The whole wonder of the incarnation is revealed. God is one of us, our God has a human face. This is the deepest truth in our lives.

Salvation comes through and in our humanity. God is at work in the most ordinary details of our lives. God is found in human form. The best image of God, the place where the Spirit dwells is none other than ourselves. In our ordinariness is where reality, truth and love bring God home to us and us home to God.

We can pray: 'Lord, Your Word became our flesh; grant that our flesh may become Your Word'.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That children may be respected and loved and never be the victims of exploitation in its various forms.
