"Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it." Have you received God's Kingdom in your life? Since children naturally need and accept care, they are always happy insofar as the people in charge of their care are committed to the task and have the necessary resources. For adults, being like a child may presuppose accepting one's frailty and need for care. In our modern world, which puts more emphasis on self-confidence and achievements, we sometimes fail to calm down and surrender ourselves to God's ever open arms, which comfort and guide us. Without this disposition, we do not receive God's graces because of too much calculation and self-reliance. This acceptance is also, as Jesus tells us, the only path for us to enter the kingdom of God. As we put ourselves in God's embrace, he bestows on us joy, comfort and hope. Today's reading also reminds us that the Lord created us out of earth, and makes us return to it again. We are called to be humble in order to open ourselves to God's ongoing work of creation in our lives and to receive his Kingdom as his blessed children.

Lord Jesus, grant us the grace of humility so that we may open our hearts to Your Kingdom.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
