Let us praise the Lord as we are preparing ourselves for the feast of Pentecost, which is the commemoration of the descent of the Holy Spirit, marking the birth of the Church. For us believers in Jesus Christ an intimate and personal presence of the Holy Spirit is not a promise of a poetic figure nor a chaotic impersonal power that energizes our artistic creativity enabling superior human beings to create new god images for a weaker humanity. The Holy Spirit empowers all of us believers irrespective of our functions in society to enable us to live in accordance with the teaching of Christ. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, who enables us to discern what comes from God and what comes from the world. He is that spontaneous joy that turns our mourning into joy when we immerse ourselves in the spirit of holiness.

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I may delight in what is holy. Strengthen and guard me that I may grow and mature in obedience. I give over control of my life to You in and through Jesus' name.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
