The Word of God cannot be confined, arrested, or blocked. When the apostles were thrown into prison, they probably never dreamed that their prison break would be arranged by an angel. We can only imagine the shock and fear of the guards! The story is an encouragement to all those who are persecuted for their faith. God remains with them, and the Word will always be set free.

'God so loved the world that he sent his only Son...' This is the most famous passage in the New Testament. God desires humans to have eternal life; God wants all of us to be in His presence. The Son judges or excludes no one; people judge or exclude themselves by their acceptance or rejection of his teachings and invitation. Why do some flee from the light? Light and pure love can be painful to those locked in sin and refusal to love. Some prefer darkness, and they are a source of grief and pain to others. That is why it is so important that we continue to love and to reach out to all, regardless of who they are. No one is beyond hope; it is never too late. In word, thought, and deed, let us take this good news to a hurting and fearful world.

Lord, may I be a source of hope to others.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
