In the Gospel today, Jesus advises us always to be watchful of what comes out of our heart. Our heart is the seat of all emotions. From it springs all our emotions, both positive and negative. It is our ordinary experience of daily life that some people are full of love, forgiveness and compassion whereas others are full of hatred, anger, revenge. Giving undue importance to what goes inside the stomach does not bring any spiritual benefit. What comes out of the heart is more important. Jesus is very clear in saying that it is from the human heart that all evil flows. Our human nature is tainted by the power of sin. As a result, in our heart there is always a clash between good and bad, positive or negative feelings. We all experience this conflict between good and evil in our hearts. The grace of God is always there to help us to overcome evil. Therefore we need to be always watchful and discern our feelings and emotions.

Lord Jesus, help us to discern our feelings and emotions and grant us the grace to grow in positive feelings and overcome negative feelings.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
