Reason, Season, Lifetime    ¡i  Year 1 Regina  ¡j

Sharing with you a little piece of poem once read on the Net~

Reason, Season and Lifetime

People always come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.
..
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
or to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
...
Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
...
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they just walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.
...
When people come into your life for a SEASON,
it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall,
the season eventually ends.
...
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway);
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being part of my life.

I'm not sure if you agree with the above classification. For me, I did not really analyze it but immediately put the many people I know into these three categories.

It is quite true that we will encounter various kinds of people in our life, those coming for a season, a reason and for a lifetime. And before the end comes, you'll never know which of the three categories a person is in. On the other hand, you never know of which category you are in the eye of the others.

Sometimes you may feel sad when the time has come for those coming for a reason or a season to leave, and you may try your very best to keep them and turn them into somebody coming for a lifetime. However hapless it is, you just cannot help the going away of these people. But it doesn't really matter, since you have all had a great time already.

As Catholic, whether we are entering into people's lives for a season, a reason or a lifetime, we need to do it in a Catholic way. I'm not saying that we should push every single person we meet in life to convert to God, but to show them the very way of our living with God.

God does not merely send us various kinds of "person(s)", He has sent us His one and only Son also. Jesus has come into our lives. Do you regard Him as coming for a reason, a season, or a lifetime?

He is always there when we're in need. But is He coming merely for a reason, or reasons?

He has always met our needs. And when our desires are fulfilled, He has never initiated the leave. It is always we who terminate the relationship and leave Him ¡K

He is always there when we're in despair. But is He coming only for a season, or seasons?

He has always given us experience of peace. And when we smile from the bottom of our heart, we bring this wonderful season to an end and go away ¡K

The truth is, though I'm sure that He doesn't mind us seeing Him as coming just for a reason or a season, He is always there, waiting for us to let Him enter into our lifetime. Let's welcome Him into our life and take Him as someone coming for a lifetime. There is sure to be much happiness and peace and whatever wonderful things you could ever think of!
