In today's readings we have a great sense of the larger community to which we belong. The family of God is compared to a building that has the prophets and Apostles as it's foundation and Jesus as the chief cornerstone. In Jesus the whole structure is bonded together and we the members are like living stones contributing to it's growth. We have been enriched by those who have gone before us. The Apostles who are part of our foundation were carefully chosen by Christ after He spent a night in prayer before the Father. They were each one called by name. Yet we know that these men were not perfect. They too had their struggles and temptations as they tried to follow Christ and continue to spread the good news to the ends of the earth.

We are the ones who are now called to continue this mission, to share the message of God's love. We are the ones who pass this message on to the next generation. Let us make sure that we build our lives on Christ so that we have a sure and firm foundation.

Lord I pray that through the intercession of Saint Simon and Saint Jude I may be a worthy dwelling place for You and show forth Your love in my life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That young people may follow Christ, the way, the truth, the life with generous enthusiasm and be ready to bear witness to him in all the situations in which they live.
