In the Gospel Jesus is speaking to his disciples at the Last Supper. He is telling them that he will soon be leaving them but that he is preparing a place for them to join him later. He then tells them they know where he is going. But Thomas, who can be stubborn and argumentative, says that they have no idea where Jesus is going. In fact, they do not want him to go away. "How can we know the way?" asks Thomas. We can be grateful to the Doubting Thomas for the lovely reply he draws from Jesus: "I AM the Way; I am Truth and Life." It is one of the seven great 'I AM' statements that Jesus makes in this gospel. And Jesus is not just one way: he is THE Way. And no one can go to God except by this way. This does not actually mean that only Catholics or other Christians are eligible. The Way of Jesus is above all the way of selfless love and a passionate desire for the wellbeing of those around us, without any exceptions - serving God in serving them. Many people, even those who do not know Jesus, can and do go this Way. It is the only way to live a meaningful life.

Lord, may we hold fast to the life you have given us.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christians, even in the difficult and complex situations of present day society, may not tire of proclaiming with their lives that Christ's resurrection is the source of hope and of peace.
